About Me

My name is Samantha Hesterman, I am the school counselor here at Duclos school! I am grew up in Ormiston, Saskatchewan (Go Riders) then graduated with a Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Alaska, where I played volleyball as a student athlete for five years. I moved to Alberta in May of 2017 and I am going on year 2 at Duclos. I am currently working on my Master of Education in School counseling, I should have it completed May of 2018!

I am passionate about early intervention and I provide a wide range of counseling services for students and families, including individual counseling, student support groups, in class presentations, and consultation. I will be at the school during every scheduled school day and I’m super excited and ready to support students, parents, and staff to have the most successful school year! In addition, I will be the school liaison for connecting to community resources such as Mental Health, FCSS, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic and Children’s Services. Please feel free to call the school and ask for me or come into my office to chat about any support you or your child may need throughout the school year.

At Duclos we SHINE!
